    Q:

I have the Ridgid combo kit that uses the 18V 2.Ah battery. I see from FAQs that it will work in my existing tools. Is my current charger capable of charging this battery? My charger # is: 140276003

I have been using my 18v. Rigid tools since 2005 and I have 10 cordless tools none have failed me. The original Ni Cad batteries have all gone bad and I have switched over to 1.5 ah 2.0ah and 3.0ah Lo-ion batteries. The 3ah are the best so far and most durable.
If your current charger is for Ni-Cad batteries only then you need to change to a dual chemistry charger. The charger will say if it can do both types. If you have had your charger doing Ni-Cad batteries only then up might have to buy a new charger. It is worth it for the tools themselves do last a long time.
