What This Warranty Covers
This warranty covers all defects in workmanship or materials in your Factory Reconditioned Ridgid power tool for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
How To Get Service
Just return the power tool, properly packaged and postage prepaid to a Ridgid Authorized Service Center. You can obtain the location of the Service Center nearest to you by contacting a customer service representative at 800-860-4050 or on-line through our Service Center locater at www.ridgid.com. When you request warranty service, you must also present proof of purchase documentation (sales receipt/bill of sale). We will repair any faulty workmanship, and either repair or replace any defective part at our option. Work will be performed without charge to your. We will complete the work in a reasonable time, but in any case, within ninety days.
What Is Not Covered
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser at retail and may not be transferred. This warranty only covers defects arising under normal usage and does not cover any malfunctions, failure, or defects resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification or repairs by other than Ridgid Authorized Service Centers. Ridgid makes not warranties, representations or promises as to the quality or performance of its power tools other than those specifically stated in this warranty.
Additional Limitations
Any implied warranty granted under state law, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are limited to one year from the date of purchase. Ridgid is not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or do not allow the exclusion of limitation of incidental damages, so the above limitations are exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

I've been using orbital sanders for over 20 years and wish I'd gotten one of these a long time ago.I haven't been using it long.It's heavier than any of my others,but that can be an asset.Less force to exsert while sanding.I like the variable speed switch,too. Takes a little getting used to,but well worth it.

I really like the features of the sander so much that when I wore out my first one, I bought another. The new one has better on/off switches that don't shut off accidentally so easily. On the con side, the cord on the new one is about 4' shorter (but standard length)than my old one which had an exceptionally long nice cord.

I've used this sanded for a variety of things from sanding plaster to wood panels. It's definitely heavy duty and will sand with out a problem. Sandpaper is easy to use and easy to use with different grits. Wears well, speed adjustment is very good. It's a little loud, dust bag is small, on the heavy side and surface size good for any wood project but small for large plaster work.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I had two of these sanders for a long time and wore out the pads long before one finally kicked the bucket (after a drop from very high up). I like the long cord with lit plug (my Bosch cord is way shorter) and the fact that Ridgid backs their tools as well as anyone. The only downside to these are that they are a little tall, so if you're used to a sander with a lower profile it will take some getting used to.

I decided to buy a second one because this sander has so much power it can be used instead of a small belt sander. I frequuently use it to round off corners of wooden cases, which wasn't possible with the other RO sanders I had tried.

I've had numerous sanders with five to six feet cords which is ok in your shop with plenty of lead cords, but not so handy elsewhere. The twelve foot cord is very nice.
