Comments about 3/8 HP Oscillating Edge Belt/Spindle Sander:

When I first bought and received this machine I thought I would have little use for it in my light woodcraft hobby. Rather quickly I found that I've used it often. Cutting a piece of wood with my saws (jig, circular and scroll) often results in going off the penciled guide line. With the belt sander it is very simple to sand it even. This has saved me much time trying to even out imperfections with my handheld sanders.

Another good feature is the ability to sand at varying angles. I very easily tapered the end of a piece of wood.

The dust port is an indispensable feature. I found an adaptor at a local sew & vac store. The adaptor fit almost perfectly into the inside the dust port. I wrapped some duct tape around the end to make it a bit wider and it then fit perfectly into the dus tport. I attached my small vac hose perfectly into the adaptor. A little dust remains on the surface of the machine and I vacuum that before putting the machine away.

On craig's list I found a sturdy wooden utility cart with wheels and the machine fits perfectly on it.

I have not used the spindle feature but my tryouts shows that the feature can be very useful to even out curves etc.

This machine has become an indispensable tool in my woodcraft hobby. It would most likely not be powerful enough for large work.

Comments about 3/8 HP Oscillating Edge Belt/Spindle Sander:

I have been watching CPO for this sander as "Reconditioned". It finally was available at about 25% less than retail in Home Depot stores. As always, the unit I received looks new and works like new.

This sander offers the versatility of operating as an oscillating spindle (round) sander and as an oscillating belt sander as well. I have not found any other machine with this combination. In operation, it works well in both modes and is effortless to change between any of the supplied spindles and to change from spindle to belt and back again.

Excellent product provided by an excellent vendor.

        Well done!!

Comments about 3/8 HP Oscillating Edge Belt/Spindle Sander:

Purchased this just over a year ago from CPO and never got to use it do to a move and some other life changes. Opened it up this weekend to do some light sanding. First off it had a very noticeable vibration when powered up. I got about 30 minutes of light use out of it and it froze up. Refuses to spin the sanding belt yet I can spin it by hand. Looked up when I purchase it and it was 2/26/13 so I am SOL on the warranty. Not at all impressed with the quality and definitely not worth the price. Now I have a nice big orange paperweight. For the price buy a new one with the three year warranty as the savings is not worth the price.

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

Every day customers return tools to retail stores because:
                  1. They purchased the wrong tool for the project
                  2. They realized they didn't need the tool
                  3. They believe the tool does not work properly
                  4. They simply changed their mind
Retailers ship many of these tools back to the manufacturer.
Manufacturer trained technicians thoroughly inspect each tool and repair the tools if necessary. Genuine factory replacement parts are installed if required, and the tools are tested to ensure they operate properly. The tools are repackaged and operating manuals are added to the box if necessary. Reconditioned tools get more individual attention than new tools.
Tools that pass inspection are awarded manufacturer warranties to give customers comfort that the manufacturer stands behind the factory reconditioned tool.
CPO is the #1 retailer of factory reconditioned tools, and sells tens of thousands of reconditioned tools every year. CPO is confident in the quality of the tools and backs each purchase with a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee. If you aren't completely satisfied, return it and we'll take care of it.
